In the year 2004, when Mr. Elías Wainberg died, his family found among his belongings a document that he had never made known, in which he told about his childhood in Noveselitz, where he married Esther Tepper, and, subsequently, in 1938, emigrated to Peru, where he became an important industrial manufacturer and a prominent member of the Jewish community. His wife was president of Ayuda Local de Perú, a Peruvian community aid agency. This text has been kindly provided to us by the family and we transcribe fragments thereof:
