Motivated by selfless aspirations and curiosity, Dr. Jaime Segal and Dr. Abraham Sterental both sought a deeper knowledge of their common roots.

This research into the history, culture, and personal stories of the town their collective families came from - Noveselitz - led to the co-authorship of their book "Noveselitz; A Town, A History." They dedicate it to all those who lived there, and to the many more descendants of Noveselitzer, as a way to provide access to the information for future generations to have a better grasp of where they came from and how this small town, and the people in it, has left a lasting imprint in time.

I dedicate this modest publication to the many Noveselitzers scattered around the world, most of whom have made a significantscontribution to the development of the kehilot in the countries wheresthey settled.

the Diaspora, many of them became successful merchants, others became professionals, spreading throughout a large part of the Western world, causing admiration by how, being such a small town, with a Jewish population of six- or seven-thousand, it gave the impression that its population had been much larger.
— Dr. Abraham Sterental
The idea has been to transmit all that we know about Noveselitz to our children, grandchildren, friends and future generations, in a simple and instructive way, placing emphasis on the history of how this town was formed, its map location, and the Holocaust suffered at the hands of the Romanian people.
